Thanks Olivier, you beat me to it.

You will all recall that at the ALAC-Board meeting in Marrakech, 
Cherine Chalably had suggested that perhaps instead of forming a new 
group to inspect the Category 1, SG 1-8 TLDs, that the task could be 
referred to either or both of the CCT Review Team and the GNSO new 
gTLD PDP, and he suggested that a phone call be set up the following 
week to discuss this. That was done and I met with Cherine, Thomas 
Schneider and James Bladel last week. A summary of that meeting will 
be distributed shortly, but the letter that Olivier attached was the result.

Although the Board cannot instruct either the RT or the PDP to do 
anything, the letter does set some expectations. Moreover, I was very 
please when, on this week's meeting of the GTLD PDP, Jeff, Neuman, 
one of the co-chairs, presented a brief summary of the issues to be 
discussed in the PDP< and the issue of such "special" TLDs was 
covered very well.
