Maybe when there is an overlap SeB could delegate the Chair function to a Vice-Chair. It is important to fill the NomCom rep seat, and if this is the only solution we cannot leave the seat empty.
I fully understand Erich’s concern, but also believe that while the Chair is supported by a Board that can partly alleviate the task and the commitment, because of confidentiality reasons the job of NomCom rep is bound to be carried on in solitude.

I have decided to self nominate myself
If selected both by Euralo and ALAC, I will do that in parallel of my duty of EURALO Chair.

  *   ALAC Delegate to the NomCom from the European Region:  Voting members of the NomCom are appointed for a one year term. The appointment for the ALAC Delegate to the NomCom from the European Region will start in December 2020 and end at the close of the 2021 AGM. Selection Schedule ALAC Delegate to the NomCom from the European Region:

  *   16 November 2020 - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.
  *   16 November – 22 November 2020 at 23:59 UTC - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 5 working days/7 days total).
  *   25 November 2020, 23:59 UTC - Deadline for nomination acceptances
  *   26 November 2020 – 18:00 UTC Calls with the candidates.
  *   27 November - 1 December 2020, 23:59 UTC – Online Vote by EURALO Members.
  *   Name (or Names) are sent to the ALAC Chair.
  *   ALAC process to elect the NomCom Member from EURALO.
  *   Newly elected NomCom Member from EURALO shall be seated on 7 December 2020.


Process for Nominations:
All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate to At-Large staff<mailto:staff at atlarge.icann.org>. Criteria for NomCom Delegates:
The NomCom is responsible for selecting members of the ICANN Board, ALAC, ccNSO and GNSO. This is a very important function and all candidates should meet important criteria.

  *   Familiarity with the ICANN groups to which the NomCom appoints (Board, ALAC, GNSO, ccNSO).
  *   Ability to judge people (such as when interviewing and hiring).
  *   Comfortable and preferably fluent with English (listening, reading, speaking).
  *   Good on-line skills such as on Google & Social media.
  *   Time Commitment - Must be willing to devote substantial time under tight deadlines (March-June). Will potentially involve travel to up to 4 meetings.
  *   Ability work in a group environment, standing up for what you believe in a discussion with other "strong" people, but at the same time, must be a good listener and be willing to change your mind if someone else has a good argument. Diplomacy is important.
