Dear all,

The Chair of the ALAC asked the At-Large staff to start an ALAC vote on
WHOIS studies and the ALS applications ready for adoption. There will be a
total of seven questions in this online vote. The first question is about
the WHOIS tally that was recently sent to the At-Large mailing list by Alan
Greenberg. The remaining six questions are on the open ALS applications. A
second email with resource material will be sent to the ALAC internal list.
Also, members of the ALAC will shortly receive a private email with their
voting credentials. The vote remains open until Tuesday, 2 March at 23:59
UTC.

The questions to be put are the following:

1. Would you like to endorse the WHOIS Vote Tally, ranked in order of
importance as proposed by the ALAC WHOIS working group, as the official ALAC
view on WHOIS studies?

With possible answers:
Yes
No
Abstain


2. Should the regional advise from AFRALO for applicant (117) Mediterranean
Federation of Internet Associations be rejected? The regional advise was to
accept the application.

With possible answers:

Yes, reject regional advise (do not accept application)
No, do not reject regional advice (accept application)
Abstain


3. Should the regional advise from LACRALO for applicant (118) Internauta
Venezuela be rejected? The regional advise was to accept the application.

With possible answers:

Yes, reject regional advise (do not accept application)

4. Should the regional advise from LACRALO for applicant (119) CETIC AJB be
rejected? The regional advise was to accept the application.

Regional Advice:

The AFRALO members decided during their teleconference held on 4 February to
advise the ALAC to accept all three ALS Applications (117), (121) and (123)
ready for adoption . It was also decided that the members of the ALAC were
to be informed that different views were held on applicant (117)
Mediterranean Federation of Internet Associations. An detailed overview of
these views will shortly be sent to the  ALAC internal list.

The LACRALO Secretariat informed us on 13 February that the regional advise
to the ALAC was to accept applications (118), (119), and (120).

You will shortly receive a separate email with:

1. Links to Alan Greenbergs email and a PDF version of the text.
2.  Links to the ALS application.
3.  The DD form in PDF.
4.  The Regional Advice email received (for applications 118, 119, and 120
in
PDF format
5. Links to the AFRALO Summary minutes where the applications 117, 121 and
123 were discussed.
6. The different views held within AFRALO on application 117 in PDF Format
