Dear colleagues, you all know me and know of my predisposition to
 strengthen our region.
 This process has led me in these 15 years to assume responsibilities as
 ALAC Member and then as president of the region (position I hold until
 the date), with the same objective as always, the growth of our
 region, stability, institutional strengthening and involvement
 of the voice of Latin America and the Caribbean in the various topics of ICANN since
 an end-user impact perspective.
 It was my luck to start a new stage with construction logics
 different and open a new path that implies more participation based on
 diversity and pluralism, more institutional strength and better
 impact on ICANN's policies of concern.
 Part of that achievement could not have been done without the accompaniment of
 our secretary Harol Arcos who today is running for the position of Vice
 President of the region.
 All this that I comment can be reflected in the working groups of the
 region, the Universal Acceptance Course (recently completed) with more
 of 160 registered, the Magazine in PDF Format and On Line in four languages
 that came out a couple of days ago (Portuguese and French in Brief) or the Webinars
 and the ICANN Academy in Spanish that will begin to function in our
 next meeting in San Juan de Puerto Rico.
 This next stage is a new regional challenge, where we have leadership
 new and where they must necessarily be strengthened with leaderships with
 historical experience and institutional memory, are moments of
 accompaniment to the new leadership of the region beginning in
 November and that without a doubt they will have a lot to do in this challenge
 of two years that they have.
 This is why I am running, firmly believing in what we build
 in these years and in the challenges that we face in the future with our
 new regional leadership.
