Alberto I ask again that we do not promote confusion in the region. The elections and the candidates are adjusted to the rules.

Your concern is unfounded since ISOC HAITI is an ALS of our region.

See the LACRALO ALS list in which ISOC Haiti is located: https://atlarge.icann.org/alses/lacralo

 Accreditation date: December 23, 2019.

I suggest that for another opportunity please review the information that is available.

 Thank you

I only have one question regarding the elections. The ISOC representative from Haiti was unable to apply because their organization is not a certified ALS. Your application is as a dual individual member, but the ALS of individual members is not yet integrated according to the new approved rules? Thanks and kind regards

Thanks Alejandro for all the contributions, I must say that I agree with you on the aspects that you highlight. Let's go directly to your attention call.
The nomination period closed on FRIDAY, July 24-, at the closing time, there had been 3 nominations from. which two stood firm, both are from Haiti:

-Derisma Queslin Haïtienne des Internautes (AHI) -

 - Sindy Obed - ISOC Haiti

 Both are valid nominations.

The third nomination there was was from Trinidad and Tobago which was declined by the nominee.

I hope this clears the doubts you had.

 Hug

 Sergio,
good news! The time has come for "policy first". Hopefully what comes to us now from procedural issues (organizing individual participants, elections, activity resources, meetings - to which there will be no trips for a while - and expanding participation) can consume a limited number of processor cycles, and is of general benefit. Now it is essential to establish a collective agenda for substantive work on policies, prioritizing those of greater scope and those of specific interest to the region.
It is important that in addition to spaces such as the CPWG and ALAC, we have discussions in the LACRALO community on the issues under development in the ICANN field and the relevant environment. The topics you mention (universal acceptance and abuse of DNS) stand out. In the CPWG there is a lot of activity - or at least there is a lot of talk - about the possible new rounds of gTLDs, a topic that in previous rounds has been little active in Latin America (discounting, of course, the defensive position against gTLDs generated outside the region but that are considered to have an impact on it).
A step forward may come from a session in which the members of the CPWG and ALAC and the LACRALO representation update us (a little more extensively than what can be done in the monthly sessions, dedicating one of them only to this topic. ) of the priority topics that are discussed, and let us see the sequence of discussions and policy development that the community can contribute to, as well as, consequently, the training, education and updating needs that may emerge.
In the procedural realm, we must pay attention to the current choice. I ask you for a super favor, clarifications on the following assessment: in the seat that is open to election in which candidates from the Caribbean would be accepted, the period for registering candidacies closed without a stable candidacy being presented. I saw two applications, one that was not acceptable because it did not belong to an ALS and the other that declined to participate. There we have a problem if this is true. That is why I ask you for accurate information in case my assessment is wrong or my information is incomplete.
I hope everyone is safe and in full health.

Dear all, today a new page begins in LACRALO, our two fundamental laws have been approved, this puts us in a different place when looking at what to do as activists for the rights of users in the ICANN ecosystem. I want to make a very big recognition to the members of the Governance Working Group, who have contributed their time, ideas and openness to new ideas and different perspectives to achieve the second objective (our Rules of Procedure), Now we are going for more in the group and we will be looking at the metrics document for its evolution towards a tool for improving our collective participation. A special section is necessary to accompany David Plumb in this process. I think that his interventions and contributions to the bringing ideas together in a group with such cultural diversity were essential to be where we are today, a region that can coexist with differences and that allows us to adjust to the new times that we have to go through. With all my heart Thank you David!
It is time for new challenges, and these are undoubtedly setting our sights on the great issues that are discussed in the global organization of which we are part, we have already made a leap in quality in the working groups, we are working on Universal Acceptance and there is already Interested in working on DNS Abuse, the big question we must ask ourselves is what other issues are we interested in that our region has an informed participation?
This is the great challenge that we have ahead in the coming times, it is time to put EVERYONE to work!
 A big hug to everyone!

 Dear Region
We hope you are well and well protected with your loved ones.
Having met 15-UTC today, Monday, July 27, we celebrate the approval by consensus of our new Rules of Procedure. We appreciate the regional ideas, contributions, comments and recommendations received through the LACRALO Working Group on Governance during these years that has led the process of updating our regional documents.

An important cycle has been completed by which we express a great congratulation and a big hug of appreciation to all the members of the LACRALO Working Group on Governance, from its founding members, to those who currently make it up and to the entire region that has expressed its disagreements and consensus through this group. We continue adding achievements to regional work.

Soon we will be sending our new document to the translation of the most recurrent languages in the region; EN, PT, FR.

 Dear Region

As reported by the members of the LACRALO Governance Working Group, Sergio Salinas Porto and Vanda Scartezini, during our Regional Monthly Meeting on Monday July 20 (https://community.icann.org/x/XYVIC), presented the proposal consulted to the Rules of Procedure region as a result of an exhaustive, detailed and meticulous process of said working group.
Regionally constructed, the Rules of Procedure represent a further step in updating our institutional documents. That is why we call for our regional approval by Consensus starting today at 23-UTC and until next Monday, July 27, 2020 at 15-UTC.
If there is no significant opposition, we will be incorporating our new document. By significant opposition is understood for these purposes if five (5) or more At-Large Structures (ALS) are against what is stated in the text.
Please access the ES version and the EN version
We remain at your disposal for any additional information.
