 Today is to celebrate worldwide the * Safer Internet Day 201 ** 7 * 
 (Safer Internet Day), and this year the theme will be * "Making a difference: 
 United for a Better Internet. " * 
 The * Safer Internet Day *, serves to raise awareness of the 
 online safety issues and participate in events and activities 
 worldwide and thus promote positive and safe Internet use, 
 especially among children and youth.


 It was started as an initiative of the Union SafeBorders project 
 European in 2004 and later adopted by the Insafe Network as one of its 
 first actions in 2005, since then the Safer Internet Day 
 It has grown beyond its geographical area of \u200b\u200borigin and now being held in 
 more than 100 countries worldwide on all continents. 


 Today is organized worldwide by Insafe / INHOPE, a European network 
 joint that has the support of the European Commission, and in our country, 
 Argentina, the Center which coordinates Safer Internet Day is 
 Chicos.Net formed by the Association and Internauta Argentina, (the 
 Internet Users Association of Argentina), which bind 
 to raise awareness of security issues online 
 develop events and activities throughout the national territory.


 With topics ranging, among others, cyberbullying to Social Networks, 
 each year * Safer Internet Day * aims to increase the 
 awareness of emerging issues online and choose a theme that reflects 
 current concerns. 


 As we know, the security landscape has evolved online
