Dear Ricardo, we agree. It is in this link, you can view this topic:
https://community.icann.org/display/alacpolicydev/At-Large+Proposed+Amendments+to+Base+New+gTLD+Registry+Agreement+Workspace
In particular, I already made a comment, and refers to "Fee waiver reduction".
It is almost impossible for our region, to acquire a gTLD. While ICANN has forecast a reduction of costs, I think it should be further addressed that issue. ALAC no coincidences in this regard.
Perhaps it would be a way to increase new applications.
Saudos !!

Dear Alberto,

as has been discussed many times in recent years, only 25 of the 1930 applications for new gTLDs left the LAC region (and more than half of them were from investors seeking domains of high volume and no needs regional or local eepcificas ). So I do not wonder that we're flying under the radar of ECLAC.

In terms of users we represent, it is worth asking if

(A) all Internet users who require them are perfectly satisfied with the overall supply of gTLDs that can be accessed from the region,

I

(B) those who are not interested in getting their own domain names for their own pages, are perfectly satisfied with the offer of local domains of our ccTLDs and those of third level (free) from platforms like Wordpress and Facebook for daily use.

The question is discussed in both the "CCT-Review", as in the mega-PDP on Subsequent Rounds, it is whether LAC is an area that suffers from poor service ( "Underserved" area) DNS finish. It is also worth discussing between us and not just wait for the results of both efforts for comment.

A hug
