My Brother Carlos:
I understand your position and take note of your concerns. Suffice to say,
we differ sharply in our views on the value of Vanda's experience and how
the exploitation of her wide and varied ICANN experience may help the
LACRALO organization.

I do not doubt your commitment to the cause. Neither do I doubt your ability
to think strategically. I have worked ever since to liquidate my own
involvement in ICANN and when my time comes, I will be ready to take my
leave. But I really do believe this Interim period is critical to raising
LACRALO's credibility within ICANN in general and the At-Large community in
particular.

I had to alert Vanda to what I was thinking. I can tell you she was
reluctant at first but agreed on condition she would serve only for the
Interim period. I have committed a lot of my time and resources to LACRALO,
from birth until now. So my concerns are almost visceral. My endgame
remains: strengthening LACRALO in a particularly difficult period for us.
Vanda has what it takes. And that is what I'm after.

This is a very rare moment when we disagree. But my fondest regard and
greatest personal respect for you remains untroubled.

Warmest,
Carlton
