Dear Colleagues:

I share Vanda's perspective on the ICANN Board Member from At-Large; it limits rather than extends the At-Large influence in real terms.

That said, I believe that LACRALO should be prepared to support the "best" candidate representing the At-Large, regardless of the place of origin of that candidate.


I also strongly support continuous discussion on the topic of the voting At-Large Board representative from now thru the election.  I am also in favour of and recommend that LACRALO settle on keeping its influence relevant when the voting comes by relieving the LACRALO leadership from having an instructed vote.

Comparto la perspectiva de Vanda en el Miembro del Board de ICANN de At-Large, sino que en lugar de límites se extiende la influencia de At-Large en términos reales.

Dicho esto, creo que LACRALO deben estar preparados para apoyar a los "mejores" candidatos en representación de la At-Large, independientemente del lugar de origen del candidato.

También defiendo la discusión continua sobre el tema de la votación representante de la Junta At-Large a partir de ahora a través de la elección. Esta mensaje es para informarlos
adelantadamente que Yo no voy candidatearme para la posición de miembro votante
del Board de ICANN por ALAC.  Creo que se LACRALO tiene la intención de
soportar un nombre regional, es relevante que nosotros debatamos esto de
pronto.

Yo personalmente creo que liaisons son más
relevantes para ALAC que miembros votantes, en verdad lo mejor sería un miembro
votante y un liaison, porque liaisons son representantes de ALAC y miembros
votantes no lo son.

Hay una chance de una persona de afuera ser
electa como miembro votante. Yo veo con restricción esta alternativa, porque ALAC
necesita usar lo mejor posible este único miembro, y tener alguien que no
conoce el modo de trabajo o los principios en que creemos, no me parece la
mejor idea.

 De todas formas si deseamos tener una voz
activa en esto, vamos empezar preguntando en nuestra lista quien va candidatearse.

This is to inform you before hand that I
will not apply to dispute the ALAC vote position at ICANN Board. Hence I will
also suggest that we debate if we, as LACRALO, want to support an specific
regional name or not.

I believe to have a liaison is more
relevant to ALAC, in fact the best case would be one vote member and one
liaison, since liaisons can work "representing" ALAC while vote
member can not.

There is a chance to persons out of the
this community to apply and be elected. I personally see with some restriction
this alternative, because ALAC needs to make the best use of the opportunity (
we will loose the liaison) then to have people with no real clue about the way
ALAC works , doesn't seen the best idea for me.



 Anyway, if we want to have a voice on this
, let's start to ask who intend to apply.
