A man with the courage of his convictions!   Bravo.

Merits a watch for the [pan-European] reactions, pro and con.

BTW, the Americans have one possible response covered. They have always
maintained metadata is purely business data.  And they do not believe the
government should stifle the Firs Amendment right of any business to
accept, organize, store and keep content.

Which is why the principal recommendation from the panel of reviewers to
the President was the NSA would not collect metadata and keep but relegate
the task to the providers.  And then they - the NSA - will go to the
providers when in need.

I will give the princely sum of 1 United States dollar to anyone who spot
the 'sleight of hand'.
