[ALAC] Nomination for ALAC Chair

Hi All,
I believe Johnathan is an excellent candidate for this job. However I only
have some reservations because of the region he is from. I believe there
should be some level of fairness and balance when it comes to the selection
of ALAC chair. ALAC members primarily represent a region and the reason for
this is to make sure everywhere is represented.  Just like we must be
sensitive to gender issues we must also  balance positions  regionally. We
do that when it comes to most appointments and this should not be an
exception.
 The previous chair  before Maureen was from the same region as Jonathan
therefore I do not believe It should go back to that region at this time.
ALAC chair position is a very powerful position and all regions have
competent people.

 we must carefully think about this and not get emotional.

I like Jonathan and I have nothing against his person but I believe we need
to be balance and fair.

I hope we give this a consideration.
