As you may see from the list of volunteers sent their interest, APRALO has one member from ALAC (Maureen Hilyard) and two regional representatives (myself and Cheryl). We of course welcome other members as well, as you said, but for now APRALO is set with the requirements.

There have seen a number of message saying people want to participate.
That is GREAT.


However, note that the call explicitly asked for the ALAC members from
each region to identify the person who will formally serve as the TF ALAC
Member from their region. Other ALAC Members are welcome to participate
as well, but we do need the formal Member.


Similarly, Regional Leadership should identify the TWO people from their
region who will serve as Members.


If all goes smoothly, the distinction between Members and Participants
will be non-existent. But if we do have issues that require a formal
consensus call or vote, it will be carried out among Members.

The ALAC has chartered this Taskforce which will recommend to the
ALAC:



- A revised set of criteria for all ALSes 


- Expectations of how RALO’s, the ALAC and ICANN At-Large Staff
will engage ALSes


- Expectations of ALS participation


 


The Taskforce will be chaired by Alan Greenberg, and Membership will
include three people from each region:



- One ALAC member per region (to be selected by the ALAC Members from
each region); and


- Two people selected by the regional leadership (according to the
RALO practices).



Other members of the At-Large Community may join the group as
Participants if they wish. If you are interested, write to At-Large staff

The TF will be meeting WEEKLY with the intent of completing
its work by ICANN54 in October.

is a

Discussion Paper posted there that may be of interest, but it is just
the start of the review.



Next Steps:



The first call of the At-Large ALS Criteria and Expectations
Taskforce will be held the week of 3 August 2015. 



A Doodle will be sent to Members identified by Thursday, 30 July
2015.
