It would be helpful if you could be more specific. The group that 
developed the new ALS responsibilities were VERY conscious about not 
making unreasonable or useless demands.  Note that the first 4 
bullets in Appendix A are the things that will disappear.

What is left:

1. Allow us to send occasional messages to the ALS members (which you 
said you do not object to)
2. Report in every 2 years
3. Mention ICANN/At-large on your website (or other Internet 
presence) - which was always a requirement
4. Representative should respond if contacted, and involve their ALS 
members *IF* such a contribution seems appropriate (ALS decision)
5. Provide a link or email address to allow prospective ALS members 
to contact the ALS.

What needless onerous service were you referring to?
