*[from Mike Nelson]*

The UN recently announced a special meeting related to Internet governance
to be held in New York City at the end of March. The deadline for
nominations for this important UN group considering the future of the
Internet Governance Forum (and the future of the Internet) is just days
away.

*[from George Sadowsky]*
A request from the Internet Technical Collaboration Group (
https://www.internetcollaboration.org ):

In the past, this group has helped identify representatives of the
"Internet technical community" to participate in specific UN activities.
Recently, the UN announced creation of an expert group on Internet
governance and the UN's role:
https://www.intgovforum.org/en/content/igf-expert-group-meeting-egm. Note
that the deadline for applications to participate is 28 February 2022, 4
days from now.

Rather than try to locate suitable individuals to recommend for an expert
study group through a participative process, as ITCG has done in the past,
the group will consider supporting specific recommendations from
individuals and organizations instead.

We therefore ask you for help in doing the following:

(1) Share this post now with your colleagues who might be suitable experts
for this voluntary assignment

(2) Note that should anyone nominating themselves wish to request the
support of the ITCG, send a note to George Sadowsky (
george.sadowsky at gmail.com) or to Elizabeth Oluoch (oluoch at isoc.org) before
28 February 2022.
