i supported michael's candidacy to join cira's board, and prior to his
election (there were significant numbers of votes cast) the difference
in policy -- in particular the role of the public interest -- between
the two larger of the two states and the unincorporated territory of one
of those two staes which comprise icann's "north american region", as
manifested by those states and via their current delegation operators,
was significant.

after his election i expect things to improve, increasing the policy
difference between the .ca and {.us|.pr} namespaces, which imho is a
good thing.
