<div class="">I am in contact with Maria Uden, of the Sámi community, she was a speaker last year for the session on DTN to present the application to serve the Sámi reindeer herders who, being nomadic, cannot use the normal Internet protocols but need the
delay-tolerant bundle protocol.</div>

<div class="">After EuroDIG 2021, we spoke about the indigenous language issue and she was interested. I will ask her to submit a proposal to the call for issues for the Sámi language.</div>

In Germany we have a lot of Dialekte (Bavarian, Saxonian, Berlinerisch, Schwäbisch. Rheinländisch etc. ). But Sorbisch is an officially recognized minority language.<br class="">

Following the interest shown at IGF Italy to the session about use of the Internet by cultural and linguistic minorities - the panel included the communities speaking furlan (Friuli), sardo (Sardinia) and arbëreshë (Calabria) - I believe that we can try a similar
session at the European level. I have also contacted UNESCO, who is very much interested, given also that next year marks the beginning of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages - 2022-2032.<br class="">

Are you part of, or in contact with, any local community that speaks a language that is not the official language of the country? If so, if there is any interest in raising issues related to local languages and cultures I suggest you submit a topic in the EuroDIG
