Every year I opine that the AfPIF may be the most valuable event  that ISOC

Interconnection, while remaining an esoteric activity, is key to
internetworking. This event gives all of us, beyond network operators, a
window into its elements.  Today sees the formal opening but if you visit
the webcast, you'll find yesterday's warm up sessions full of technical

transit deficits. As a multi-stakeholder forum, AfPIF seeks to foster
cross-border interconnection opportunities by ensuring that key players --
infrastructure providers, Internet service providers (ISPs), IXPs,
international financial institutions, and policy-makers and regulators are
