At the DLD Conference <http://www.dld-conference.com/DLDnyc17> in NYC last
week *Elliot Noss*, President and CEO of Tucows, addressed the assembled
throng of developers, designers and entrepreneurs. He bade them, if they
wanted to see some true innovation, to take a closer look at ICANN, He
noted that ICANN's global organic governance model - one that transcends
nations, borders, and governments - is unprecedented in the annals of human
history, and suggested it should be recognized, cherished, and supported.
In reality there are those of us deeply embedded in the processes who kind
of take it for granted, and others to whom, if they have heard of it at
all, it is an enigma. Hopefully today's event will be contribute, in a
small way, to bridging that gap, while bringing its activities into
perspective.
