present the *Central Asian Internet Symposium, Bishkek 2014

in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The Central Asia region serves as a strategic
link between Asia and Europe for terrestrial Internet connectivity. Many
international and regional organizations are recognizing the economic and
social impact of an improved regional connectivity infrastructure. ISOC has
engaged with several high-level stakeholders in the Kyrgyz Republic,
including National Institute for Strategic Studies of Kyrgyzstan (NISS), to
collaborate on developing the Internet infrastructure in the region leading
to this Symposium which has the theme "*Perspectives for Internet
Development in the Kyrgyz Republic*". Speakers include *Frédéric Donck*,
Director of European Regional Bureau, Internet Society, and *Olaf Kolkman*,
Chief Internet Technology Officer, Internet Society, and *Talant Sultanov*,
Director of NISS. Also there will be a video message from *Vint Cerf*. The
event will be webcast live via *Internet Society Livestream Channel
