...like the man said, its something 'easy in principle and hard when it
comes to the details'.

So think 'mutation' in meaning as you follow the details.  They may not
always be in your corner in every nuanced detail.  But at least they're
against SOPA...and all that jazz.  Regardless of your position on net
neutrality, expect them to have one, albeit from a different point on the
compass.  They many not be always dependable with respect to issues of
censorship.  But they sometimes will exhibit interests coincident to yours.

In other words, they have permanent interests. So they will not be
permanent friends.
