Important Note from the APRALO Leadership Team:
The APRALO LT has unanimously agreed to recommend Charles Mok as its alternative candidate for the seat of ALAC Delegate to the NomCom representing the Asian, Australasian and Pacific Islands Region. This recommendation accompanies that of the regional recommendation Priyatosh Jana, the regionally selected recommendation for the same seat.

The APRALO LT believes that Charles Mok is the more suitable candidate for the role, based on his experience and skills as demonstrated in his SOI, and that he possesses a clear understanding of the mandate of an ALAC Delegate to the NomCom. His SOI is attached, summarized as follows:

  * Charles has been extensively involved in various Internet Governance and Tech communities in Asia Pacific Region and is well respected in the community.
  * He has an understanding of ICANN and APRALO (in the past he has served as Chair of APRALO, been involved in ccNSO as ccTLD operator for .hk),
  * He has extensive corporate governance experience having been or is currently on the board of directors of several organizations, including the ISOC Board of Trustees and the International Centre for Trade Transparency and Monitoring (ICTTM), and has chaired ISOC’s Governance Committee.
  * Charles has for the past two years served on ISOC’s PIR Nominations Committee, which interviews and selects the candidates for the Board of Directors of the Public Interest Registry (PIR).
  * He is well versed with present day geo-politicism, the changing nature of the IG ecosystem and the challenges faced, being a member of the Advisory Committee of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue (KITDP) and as a Research Scholar at the Global Digital Policy Incubator (GDPi) of the Cyber Policy Center at Stanford University, focusing on cyber laws and policies in the Asia Pacific region.
  * He is articulate and can work in a team to arrive at outcomes (In the past he has served as a Parliamentarian in Hong Kong)
