Dear Community members,

We hope this email finds you well and in good health.
The ICANN74 Meeting is scheduled for 13-16 June 2022 in The Hague,
Netherlands.
This meeting will be will take place as a hybrid event

We plan to hold the Joint AFRALO-AfrICANN meeting and we would like to
invite you to submit topics for this session.

To help more community members to engage in the drafting of the
AFRALO-AfrICANN statement, the AFRALO Webinar 2022 Team will organize a
webinar series 2022 on the topics chosen for the AFRALO-AfrICANN joint
meetings during ICANN public meetings.
Next AFRALO Webinar 2022 will be focusing on the topic “Domain name
registrant's security best practices/protecting domain names ”. More info

For your information our previous statements have focused on issues like:
Domain Name System (DNS) Abuse, Universal Acceptance, evolving the ICANN
Multistakeholder model, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), New gTLD
Subsequent Procedures, enhancing ICANN accountability, etc. Please see our

These wide ranges of topics mentioned above are given as examples. Of
course, you may suggest other topics.
As is the norm, the topic that receives the most support will be selected.
 Please see our proposed timeline:

*· 14- 26 April 2022: Call for topics and drafting team*
*· 27 April 2022: Announcement of Selected topic & drafting team
composition *
*· 28 April – 6th May 2022: First Draft of Statement*
*· 7th -12 May 2022: Second Draft of Statement *
*· 13 May 2022: Statement translation and sending to Staff  *

Kindly send your suggested topics and volunteer for drafting by 26 April
2022, after which the drafting team will be constituted to prepare a draft
statement that will be shared with the rest of the members.
If you would like to join the drafting team, kindly notify us off list.

réunions conjointes AFRALO-AfrICANN lors des réunions publiques de l'ICANN.

Le prochain webinaire AFRALO 2022 se concentrera sur le thème "Meilleures
pratiques de sécurité des titulaires de noms de domaine/protection des noms

Pour votre information, les déclarations précédentes se sont concentrées
sur des sujets tels que: l'abus du Système de Noms de Domaine (DNS),
l'Acceptation Universelle (AU), l'évolution du modèle multipartite de
l'ICANN, le RGPD, les procédures ultérieures des nouveaux gTLD, le
Processus Accéléré de développement de politiques (EPDP), l’amélioration de
la responsabilité de l'ICANN,
Ce large éventail de thèmes mentionnés ci-dessus est donné à titre
d'exemple.

Vous pouvez bien entendu suggérer d'autres sujets.
Comme c'est la norme, le sujet qui recevra le plus de soutien sera
sélectionné.

Veuillez consulter le calendrier proposé:

*· 14-26 Avril 2022 : Appel à proposition des sujets/thèmes et de l’équipe
de rédaction;*
*· 27 Avril 2022 : annonce du sujet sélectionné et constitution de l'équipe
de rédaction;*
*· 28 Avril- 6 Mai 2022 : Premier projet (brouillon) de déclaration;*
*· 7 -12 Mai 2022 : deuxième ébauche de déclaration;*
*· 13 Mai 2022 : Traduction de la déclaration et envoi au personnel de
l’ICANN;*

Veuillez envoyer vos suggestions de sujets et vous porter volontaire pour
la rédaction d'ici le *Mardi 26 Avril 2022*, après quoi l'équipe de
rédaction sera constituée pour préparer un projet de déclaration qui sera
partagé avec le reste des membres.

Si vous souhaitez rejoindre l'équipe de rédaction, veuillez nous en
informer hors liste.
