Dear All

Please find below my nomination statement for the position of ALAC which 
I thank wholeheartedly Tijani who has nominated me and to all the 
members who have supported my nomination.

I am currently the President of the Internet Governance Forum Mauritius 
and the CEO of a Business Process Outsourcing Company under the name of 
KMP Global Ltd. I am the holder of a MBA from the University of 
Technology Mauritius and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management 
from the University of Surrey, UK. I have graduated in Electronics from 
the University of Mauritius and I hold a certificate in 
Telecommunications and Electronics from the City and Guilds of London 
Institute.

Forming part of the civil society, I was always involved in social and 
non-commercial activities related to the development of the Internet and 
its associated technologies.

All my actions have been geared for the best interests of the end users 
and for the African Community.

In 2001 I founded the Internet Society of Mauritius and held the 
position of President.

I have participated in various conferences, workshops and seminars and 
in different capacities, for instance:

1.The World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) as ISOC ambassador for 
both phases (Geneva 2003 and Tunisia 2005)

2.The NEPAD e-Africa Commission

3.African Stakeholder’s network of the UN ICT Task Force

4.World Summit Award National Expert for Mauritius and Grand Jury Member 
for WSA 2003

5.Member of UNESCO Information for All Programs (IFAP)

6.Member of the Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) Network

7.Twice nominated as Most Outstanding Young Person of Mauritius

8.I was the Member of the PIR .ORG Advisory Council

9.I was the founder of the Internet Society of Mauritius

10.Participate at the Internet Governance Forum meetings

11.Participated at the Global Multi-stakeholder Meeting on the future of 
Internet Governance in NetMundial.

12.Nominated for the African ICT Achievers Award 2004

13.I have been received the lifetime Achievement Award from the 
Association of Scientists, Developers and Faculties (ASDF) in 2012

At ICANN, I was first appointed to the ALAC by the NomCom in 2009

Even before this appointment to the ALAC, I was already involved in 
ICANN. I was a member of the NCUC since 2004 and held position of 
Executive Member representing the African Region.

I actively participated in various committees and working groups:

1.Past Executive Committee Member of the NCUC

2.Member of the ICANN NomCom in 2016 and 2017

3.Member of the ALAC Executive Committee from October 2009 to October 2011

4.Member of the Joint Supporting Organization/Advisory Committee (SO/AC) 
WG on New gTLD Applicant Support (JAS) Working Group

5.Member of the Post-Expiry Domain Name Recovery Working Group

6.Member of the Cross Community Working Group Discussing Recommendation 
6 of the new gTLD process (Rec6 CDG-WG)

7.Member of the ALAC Board Candidate Evaluation Committee (BCEC)

Currently I am the Co-chair of AFRALO Hot topics Implementation Working 
Group, and member of the following working groups:

1.At-Large Social Media Working Group

2.ALAC Subcommittee on Outreach and Engagement

3.ATLAS III Program Working Group (PWG)

4.NomCom Review Implementation Working Group (NomComRIWG)

  I believe that I can work better for the African At-large Community by 
contributing and serving to the community.

Being bilingual, I communicate in both English and French, which gives 
me the ability to serve the diverse AFRALO community.

My long standing experience will help me serve better our community. 
Your support to the nomination honors me; I commit to put the necessary 
time and energy to serve the whole African Internet End-Users and I 
pledge to be their voice at the ALAC.

d'ALAC, que je remercie de tout cœur, Tijani, qui a proposé ma 
candidature, ainsi qu'à tous les membres qui m'ont soutenu.


Je suis actuellement président de l'Internet Governance Forum Mauritius 
et PDG d'une entreprise d’externalisation et de BPO sous le nom de KMP 
Global Ltd. Je suis titulaire d'un MBA de l'Université de Technologie de 
Maurice et d'un diplôme de troisième cycle en gestion des entreprises de 
la Université de Surrey, Royaume-Uni. Je suis diplômé en électronique de 
l'Université de Maurice et je suis titulaire d'un certificat en 
télécommunications et électronique du City and Guilds of London Institute.

En tant que membre de la société civile, j'ai toujours été impliqué dans 
des activités sociales et non commerciales liées au développement 
d'Internet et de ses technologies associées.

Toutes mes actions ont été conçues dans le meilleur intérêt des 
utilisateurs finaux et de la communauté africaine.

En 2001, j'ai fondé l'Internet Society of Mauritius et avait occupé le

3.Réseau de parties prenantes africaines du Groupe de travail des 
Nations Unies sur les TIC

4.Expert national du prix du Sommet mondial pour Maurice et membre du 
grand jury pour WSA 2003

5.Membre du programme Information pour tous de l'UNESCO (PIPT)

6.Membre du réseau des petits États insulaires en développement (PEID)

7.Deux fois nommé le jeune le plus remarquable de Maurice

8.J'étais membre du conseil consultatif du PIR .ORG

9.J'étais le fondateur de l'Internet Society of Mauritius

10.Participation aux réunions du forum sur la gouvernance de l'Internet

11.Participation à la réunion multipartite mondiale sur l'avenir de la 
gouvernance de l'Internet au NetMundial.

12.Nomminé pour le prix African ICT Achievers Award 2004

13.J'ai reçu le prix d'excellence à vie de l'Association des 
scientifiques, des développeurs et des facultés (ASDF) en 2012.

À l'ICANN, j'ai été nommé pour la première fois à l'ALAC par le NomCom 
en 2009 - (https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2009-08-28-fr).

Même avant cette nomination à l'ALAC, j'étais déjà impliqué dans 
l'ICANN. J’etais membre du NCUC depuis 2004 et ai occupé le poste de 
membre exécutif représentant la région africaine.

J'ai activement participé à divers comités et groupes de travail:

1.Ancien membre du comité exécutif de la NCUC

2.Membre du NomCom de l'ICANN en 2016 et 2017

3.Membre du comité exécutif de l'ALAC d'octobre 2009 à octobre 2011.

4.Membre du groupe de travail sur le soutien aux candidats aux nouveaux 
gTLD (JAS), membre de l'organisation de soutien commune / du comité 
consultatif (SO / AC)

5.Membre du groupe de travail sur la récupération des noms de domaine 
après l'expiration.

6.Membre du groupe de travail intercommunautaire discutant de la 
recommandation 6 du processus des nouveaux gTLD (Rec6 CDG-WG)

7.Membre du comité d'évaluation des candidats d’ALAC au conseil 
d'administration de l'ICANN (BCEC)

Je suis actuellement coprésident du groupe de travail sur la mise en 
œuvre des sujets d'actualité d'AFRALO et membre des groupes de travail 
suivants :

1.Groupe de travail At-Large sur les médias sociaux

2.Sous-comité de sensibilisation et d'engagement de l'ALAC

3.Groupe de travail sur le programme ATLAS III (PWG)

4.Groupe de travail sur la mise en œuvre de l'examen du NomCom (NomComRIWG)

  Je crois que je peux travailler mieux pour la communauté africaine en 
contribuant et en servant la communauté.

Étant bilingue, je communique en anglais et en français, ce qui me 
permet de servir la communauté diversifiée d'AFRALO.

Ma longue expérience m'aidera à mieux servir notre communauté. Votre 
soutien à ma nomination m’honore; Je m'engage à mettre le temps et 
l'énergie nécessaires pour servir l'ensemble des utilisateurs finaux de 
l'Internet africain et je m'engage à être leur voix à l'ALAC.
