Thank you very much for this beautiful dynamic. However, I propose that the problem should be clearly defined and contextualized so that the discussions are more coherent.

Dear Abiola,
Thank you for your comments. I think it beats the purpose to say there is a problem and not point it out so that it is sorted once and for all. Please help us identify the problem so that we can find solutions together. I am now getting confused.
That aside, I have always known AFRALO to be a family where problems get solutions, but most importantly people help each other. We need to continue in this same spirit.
I agree with Barrack; we need to take this to the Rules of Procedure working group, which you are all invited to join.
Thank you,
Sarah

I don't think Pastor Peters' motion is embarrassing. I think it's a well-thought out presentation. The truth is, we need to discuss the issues contained in it, perhaps we might know why it was drafted in the first place, which could prove valuable going forwards.
AFRALO is a united body, as evidenced by the solidarity shown in Johannesburg. Perhaps we could even be more united, more democratic, more transparent, more discerning in the nearest future. The motion presupposes we have some problems. Why shouldn't we thrash them out once and for all.

 ENGLISH AND FRENCH VERSION
Hello everyone,
By reading all of you, I wonder what the real problem is?
1. Are these leadership positions?2. Are these people problems?3. Are these problems of linguistic predominance?4. Is this the length of representation?
In short, what are the real concerns?
Since the creation of AFRALO, the rules of procedure have never been disputed. The members have always been elected according to the procedures of the constitutive texts and according to the required standards.
Can we understand that there are special arrangements?
This motion by Peters was to be presented as soon as the situation first appeared, which seemed embarrassing.
However, what is important for Afralo is that we need credible, reliable, dynamic, united, enthusiastic, critical and tolerant people with a sense of democratic values, always listening to others.
We especially need realistic people who demonstrate in their respective countries and in the different platforms extra ICANN.
We must privilege both qualitative and quantitative diversity while remaining united.
FRANCAIS

Dear Silvia,Hope this meets you well? Please help to have this document circulated to the ALAC-REGIONAL LEADERS Mailing list for their information.I hope this will equally generate interest for discussion as there appears to be a common trend amongst all the leaders at the Regional Levels to perpetuate themselves in office and representations in ICANN to the disadvantage of the whole group. We shall continue to have this discussed and debated in AFRALO to move it forward.Thanking you for your assistanceBest
