Bonjour,

 

J’ai lu la déclaration proposée par Cheryl pour ALAC, et je l’ai trouvée
très bien (honnête et équilibrée). J’y ai apporté mon soutien en mon nom.
NARALO avait proposé que la déclaration d’ALAC soit clairement et
directement favorable à la délégation du string « .xxx ». Je pense que pour
nous autres Africains, cette question n’a pas un grand intérêt. Le
développement et la participation de notre communauté dans le processus
ICANN pour pouvoir influencer les décisions concernant Internet me semble
être notre plus grand souci à AFRALO. Nous n’avons pas intérêt à prendre
position pour ou contre la délégation de ce string.

 

Il nous est demandé en tant qu’AFRALO de commenter la proposition de Cheryl.

Si vous voulez qu’AFRALO produise sa propre déclaration, nous devons le
faire rapidement. La méthodologie que nous avions suivie auparavant reste la
meilleure à mon sens : quelqu’un prépare un projet et on le finalise
ensemble.

Good morning,

 

I read the statement proposed by Cheryl for ALAC, and I found it very good
(fair and well balanced). I supported it on my own behalf. NARALO proposed
that ALAC declaration should be clearly and directly in favour of the
delegation of the “.xxx” string. I do think that for us as Africans, this
issue doesn’t have a big importance. The development and the participation
of our community in the ICANN process to impact the decisions made
concerning Internet seems to me to be our most concern as AFRALO. I don’t
think that it will be beneficial for us to be for or against the delegation
of this string.

 

We are asked as AFRALO to comment Cheryl’s proposel:

I propose that AFRALO supports it without modification.

 

If you want AFRALO to submit its own statement, we should do so very soon.
The methodology we used before remains the best for me: someone prepares a
draft and we finalize it together.

All regions are asked to comment on the draft Statement.

 

Also, if you would like to submit a AFRALO statement on the .XXX

be appended to the ALAC statement.
