It's all relative. People from different parts of the world call us all 
Yankees. If you live in the U.S., Yankees are only people from the 
North. If you live in the North Yankees are a specific class of people 
descended from old English settlers. I live in Boston, and by my own 
perspective I am NOT a Yankee, but to people from other places I AM a 
Yankee. To muddy the waters further, "Yankee" was a Dutch insult for 
English settlers, but it is now a term of pride for some people (and an 
different insult to others).

How about "Northern West-Hemispherians"?
