If they're to become a registrar then not only would they be subject to the RAA but they'd also have to meet the accreditation criteria, which *might* be an issue for a city, as it can only apply to a corporate body.

I *think* that some .brand applicants are going to outsource the registrar function, but that's going only on what I'm hearing on the grapevine. I'd assume that any brand that's interested in getting its own TLD already has a relationship with a registrar..

If I read it correctly there was specific language in the contract that said NYC would be able to act as a registrar at thesame wholesale rate as everyone else. Presumably indeed they would be subject to to the RAA.

How are the dotbrands dealing with this?
