I believe that NARALO is the only region that allows individual
members, so Hawa is correct -- indeed I would wonder how Mr. Kissangou
could self-nominate if he has no standing within AFRALO. I must say I
have serious reservations about the intent of someone who wants to be
elected as a RALO rep to ALAC without having yet participated for one
minute in that RALO or been willing to play by its rules.
It's easy enough to fix should the will exist. Heck, ISOC chapters
already comprise more than one-third of At-Large.
My response would be -- if Mr. Kissangou is serious about this -- to
get ISOC-Congo registered as an ALS, and let's see what is contributed
at that level before he runs. As Danny can certainly appreciate,
diplomas and even experience mean zero if someone doesn't get
involved, attend meetings etc. And so far there's no track record of
his involvement in ICANN.
So, on the balance, I must say I'm unimpressed by what looks to be a
political action based on the limited information given.
