[NA-Discuss] Voting Tally on OP Principles

I am pleased to report that, according to my tally, detailed below,  
the Operating Principles have been approved in accord with Paragraph  
15 ("These Operating Principles will take effect when adopted by not  
less than 70% of the active North American At-Large Structures").

With 16 Accredited At Large Structures, each with 2 eligible voting  
members, we had a potential for 32 votes. 26 votes were cast, and,  
according to our prior agreement, the 6 eligibles voters who did not  
vote were deemed "not active" for purposes of the vote.

Of the 26 votes cast by At Large Structures, 20 were affirmative  
"yes" votes in favor of the Operating Principles (76%). Of the  
remaining 6 votes, 3 were express abstentions and 3 were negative. If  
we do not take account of the abstentions, the voting percentage (20  
of 23 votes) rises to 87%.

The approval paragraph of the OP provided that the vote was to take  
place among At Large Structures, which does not include the  
unaffiliated individuals who participate in the General Assembly  
voting. Both of these individuals voted "no." Even if we counted  
them, the OP would have passed (either by a 71% or 80% margin,  
depending on how we dealt with abstentions).

By a copy of this message, I am alerting ICANN Staff to the fact that  
the Operating Principles for North America have been adopted and  
asking that they post these as final to the relevant ALAC web pages  
and update the footer on our mailing lists.

The actual voting tally is below. If anything is incorrect, please  
let me know. Congratulations everyone!
