[NA-Discuss] List of ALAC working groups, leadership, etc.

Well, here's a start.

The acronyms I run into most are:

ALAC: at-large advisory committee
CCNSO: country code names supporting organization
GNSO: generic names supporting organization
ccTLD: country code top-level domain
gTLD: global (or generic? They seem to be used interchangably) top-level domain
TLD: top-level domain
GAC: government (or governmental) advisory committee
IANA: Internet assigned numbers authority
NCUC: non-commercial users constituency
PDP: policy development procedure (or process?)
RAA: registrar accreditation agreement
SSAC: security and stability advisory committee
UDRP: uniform dispute resolution policy (or uniform domain-name dispute resolution policy)

You can also look at the following wikipedia pages:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICANN

There's a French version here but with far fewer acronyms listed
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Corporation_for_Assigned_Names_and_Numbers

Hello Beau

Thanks for the list, it's helpfull.

You know what would also be usefull to add to the list ? The full name
of some of the acronyms. It's getting so complicated to remember all of
them. As we say in French: «it's enough to loose my latin» (-;)]. A word or two on the role and mandate of our collegues would also be great.

Have a nice Sunday
Here in Québec, we're in the middle of a snow storm, so if you like
skiing or snowboarding, we have plenty of a «white» Christmas to offer
you ! (-;)])
