Personally I think Kiren's write up is sufficiently accurate, and the
task of replacement could be made easier by simply having a temporary
CEO being the temporary CEO and temporarily managing the CEO dossier.

Someone subject matter smart, someone organzationally smart, someone
trusted, Doug Brent is my first draft choice. 

And ICANN staff should unionize. Management errors should not result
in loss of staff.
