[NA-Discuss] Elected NARALO Officers and ALAC Representative

Dear All,

The nomination period for the open NARALO positions have recently ended.  There was only one candidate for each of the three open positions who was nominated AND accepted his or her nomination. Therefore, the following nominees have been confirmed for their respective position:


NARALO ALAC Representative: Evan Leibovitch

As stated in the ICANN Bylaws Article XI section 2, rule 4c (available here:
http://www.icann.org/en/general/bylaws.htm#XI), the NARALO ALAC representative will be serving for a term of two years starting at the close of the ICANN AGM in 2010 and ending at the close of the ICANN AGM in 2012.

NARALO Chair: Beau Brendler

As stated in the NARALO Operating Principles (available here:
https://st.icann.org/naralo/index.cgi?ralo_organizing_documents), the NARALO Chair will be serving for a term of one year. The term will start at the close of the ICANN AGM in 2010 and end at the close of the ICANN AGM in 2011.

According to the NARALO Operating Principles, the duties of the Chair are the following:
The Chair shall act as moderator and facilitator of the work of the NARALO. The Chair shall be empowered to issue Calls for Statement of Interest for service on the ALAC and to sign and receive any offical correspondence to and from ICANN or the At-Large Structures.


NARALO Secretariat: Darlene Thompson

As stated in the NARALO Operating Principles (available here:
https://st.icann.org/naralo/index.cgi?ralo_organizing_documents), the NARALO Secretariat will be serving for a term of one year. The term will start at the close of the ICANN AGM in 2010 and end at the close of the ICANN AGM in 2011.

According to the NARALO Operating Principles, the duties of the Secretariat are the following:
The Secretariat will have administrative and informative functions. It will be responsible for maintaining a working communcations system and for ensuring the information flux about the issues under discussion between the NARALO participants.
