Estimados miembros de LACRALO,

En relación con los comentarios hechos por Alejandro Pisanty y Vanda Scartezini sugiriendo se incluyera en el Charter del CCWG-Accountability, como criterio guía de dicho grupo, procurar la eficiencia presupuestal y el evitar crear mayores gastos a ICANN como consecuencia de los mecanismos que se diseñen por este grupo de trabajo, les comentamos que por los tiempos no fue posible incluir esa sugerencia directamente en el Charter. Los comentarios llegaron cuando otros SO/ACs estaban ya en proceso de aprobar el Charter propuesto por el grupo redactor del Charter inicial y la aprobación de algunos de ellos coincidió con la formulación de los comentarios recibidos.

En este sentido, se discutió en el ALAC la inquietud planteada desde LACRALO (y compartida por otras regiones) y se llegó a la conclusión, a sugerencia de Fátima, de establecer dicho criterio como uno de los principios bajo los que los miembros designados para representar al ALAC dentro del CCWG-Accountability, deberán desempeñar el cargo y llevar la representación de la comunidad de At-Large y el ALAC.

Agradecemos los comentarios hechos para orientar de mejor manera el trabajo de los representantes del ALAC en el CCWG-Accountability y continuamos atentos a recibir sus comentarios y sugerencias en el resto de temas que ocupan nuestra agenda.

Dear LACRALO members,

With regards to the comments made by Alejandro Pisanty and Vanda Scartezini suggesting the inclusion in the CCWG-Accountability Charter, as a guideline for that group, the principle of budget efficiency and avoid creating further budget pressures in ICANN as a consequence of the designed accountability mechanisms designed by the CCWG-Accountability, we would like to share with you that unfortunately those comments were not able to be included in the Charter as they came in at the same time that the proposed  Charter was already being approved by other SO/ACs.

Therefore, the ALAC discussed the concern raised by LACRALO (and shared by other regions as well) and, as a suggestion from Fatima, decided to establish said guideline as one of the principles under which ALAC representatives will have to perform their duty and carry At-Large’s and ALAC’s representation.

We thank you for your comments that help us guide our work in ways to better represent the ALAC in the CCWG-Accountability and we continue to be open to comments not only in this subject but also those that fill our day to day agenda.
