[lac-discuss-es] [ALAC-Announce] IMPORTANT: Call for Nominations for ALAC Chair

Estimados, a despecho de mi entusiasmo en apoyar a Olivier en el email
abajo,  infelizmente Olivier no quiere permanecer y he propuesto a ALAN como
su substituto con el como vice chair.
Tener Olivier como Vice chair como Alan ya lo aceptó, es una idea muy buena
que Cheryl empezó en 2010 porque, a mi ver,  ICANN y por lo tanto ALAC van a
tener a frente un periodo de desafíos en la arena política que no és el
mejor en Alan y que Olivier puede compensar.
ALAN ( tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar con el de 2007 hasta 2010 en ALAC)
fue siempre soportado por NOMCOM por su calidad como muy trabajador, (como
es jubilado de la universidad tiene tiempo a dedicarse exclusivamente a
ICANN), y por su conocimiento de ICANN como miembro todos estes años de ALAC
, liaison- WG etc junto al GNSO y en el  ATRT.
Aunque me gustaría mucho la continuación de Olivier, esta es la realidad y
Yo, personalmente, si hacemos una votación en LACRALO, voy a suportar la
indicación de ALAN hecha por Olivier.

Estimados colegas 

Empezando el plazo para que los miembros de ALAC voten en un nombre para
Chair, ver el email abajo,  deseo compartir mi opinion:  si es posible y si
el así lo accept, que nuestros representantes junto a ALAC, como LACRALO,
votem por elegir a Olivier  para uno mas mandato, una vez que el  tuvo una
brillante gestión frente a ALAC. No veo mejor candidato al momento entre los
miembros de ALAC. 
 Todavia si no es posible,  devemos muy breve hacer una rodada de
intenciones de voto, para que los representantes defiendan la posición de la
mayoría en ALAC. 
La fecha de encerramiento de los votos de los miembros de ALAC  los votos es
la mañana ( para nuestra region) del dia 3 de Septiembre .

Subject:  [ALAC-Announce] IMPORTANT: Call for Nominations for ALAC Chair

Dear All, 

The At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) Rules of Procedure (RoP -
http://tinyurl.com/ALAC-RoP-2013-04) call for the ALAC Chair to be elected
for one year, but subject to certain conditions, may automatically renewed
for one additional year. As Olivier Crépin-Leblond was elected to serve as
Chair for 2012-13, and was automatically renewed for 2013-14, this year
there must be a new election.

Nominations are now open for individuals to serve as the Chair of the ALAC.
Nominations may be made by any ALAC Member. Nominees need not be an ALAC
Member at the time of the nominations, but must have an expectation of being
an ALAC Member after the completion of the upcoming Los Angeles ICANN
Meeting. 

Nominations will close on 03 September 2014 at 23:59 UTC.

Nominations need not be seconded, but it is an ALAC tradition that others
may second the nomination as a show of agreement with the nomination.

Nominations other than self-nominations must be accepted within seven days
after the close of nominations. Acceptance should be sent to the
alac en atlarge-lists.icann.org. Nominees without access to that list should
send their acceptance to staff en atlarge.icann.org.

According to the ALAC RoP, following the nominations/acceptance period, a
Selection Summary will be posted giving the details of the following
process. The selection of the four other ALAC Leadership Team members will
be initiated once the selection of the Chair is completed.
