As a part of the IGF remote participation outreach plan,a webinar about
Internet Governance Forum and remote participation has been scheduled to be
held on Tuesday 8 October 2013, at 7 PM (GMT+2). You are invited to attend
the webinar  which will give you a brief overview of what will be discussed
at IGF 2013, the different types of events that will be held, and how to
effectively engage with discussions remotely.This webinar may be especially
useful for those who are new to IGF.

Below, you can find the description of the webinar and the instructions
about how to attend . If you have any question, please do not hesitate to

*The webinar description:*

The 8th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) annual meeting will be held in
Bali, Indonesia from 22 to 25 October 2013. IGF has a critical role in the
global Internet governance ecosystem. It provides a neutral and non-binding
venue for discussions on some of the most important Internet governance
issues, which could then be reflected in the policy/decision making
processes of various national and international Internet governance bodies.
Each year prominent Internet governance experts and activists get together
at IGF to discuss public policy issues pertaining to the Internet and
exchange knowledge and ideas.

Join us for a webinar on IGF and remote participation. Ms. Farzaneh Badiei,
in charge of remote participation at the IGF Secretariat, will give
a  brief overview of IGF 2013 and a presentation on how to actively engage
with IGF discussions remotely at IGF 2013. Ms. Virginia Paque from
diplofoundation will tell us why remote participation is effective and how
it can increase your role in shaping the Internet governance policies. Ms.
Vuillequez, consultant at the IGF Secretariat, will guide us through the
IGF website. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the
end of the session.

*Instructions* :

1. In order to join the webinar, click on the link available

The times are indicated* in Central European Summer time or Greenwich Mean
Time (GMT) +2.*

2. When you click  on the link, you will be asked to enter your name and
email address. If asked to enter the meeting password, please insert
IGF2013. This is the password for all the virtual rooms.

3. After clicking on the 'Join' button, you may be asked to download Cisco
WebEX add-on. Please download the required application.

4. After the download has finished you can go back and refresh the page or
click on the link to join the meeting.

5. A pop-up window will open: 'Your host has started an Integrated Voice
Conference. Do you want to participate?' Click on 'Yes'

6. A 'Speaker/Microphone Test' window will pop-up. Test your equipment, and
click on 'OK'

7. Click on 'Participants' to view the host (if video is available), and
other attendees.

8. Your microphone will be automatically muted when you enter the room.
This is to preserve silence in the room.

*Note*: To connect to the WebEx platform, Java must be installed. Java is a
standard software used in many systems and supplied by a major
manufacturer. If Java is not installed in your computer, your browser will
try to install Java automatically. If not, please install it manually via
www.java.com, or follow the instructions at
www.java.com/en/download/help/download_options.xml
