QUESTION:
In the case under review of the eligibility of the candidate to be an ALAC Member, do you think that  the requisite of "main residency " in Rule 8 of our Operating Principles is complied with?

 *   With the YES answer, you are supporting the possibility of the candidate being consider as an ALAC Member.
 *   With the answer NO, you deny the possibility to the candidate to be considered as an ALAC Member.

8.  The LACRALO  shall elect two (2) individual to serve as representatives before the At Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) on the terms specified in the ICANN By-Laws. Only those ALSs that have been accredited prior to the election shall be entitled to vote in the election. Each accredited  ALS  shall be entitled to one vote. The selected representatives shall be members of various ALSs, have their main places of residence in countries of the region, and their nationalities must be distinct. The representatives shall be responsible for the duties stipulated by the ICANN By-Laws.

In the case of the election, the affiliation, residency and nationality shall also be taken into account with respect to the person acting as a representative vis-à-vis the ALAC on behalf of the LAC appointed by the NomCom.

PREGUNTA:

¿Considera que en el caso planteado sobre la elegibilidad del candidato a ALAC Member, se cumple con el requisito de "residencia principal" de la regla 8 de nuestros Principios Operativos?

· Con la respuesta Sí, usted esta apoya la alternativa de que sea candidato a ALAC Member.
· Con la respuesta No, usted deniega la posibilidad de que sea candidato a ALAC Member.

Regla 8:

La LACRALO elegirá a dos (2) individuos para servir como representantes ante el At Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), en los términos que han sido especificados en los estatutos de ICANN. Sólo aquellas ALS que hayan sido acreditadas antes de la votación, podrán votar en la elección. Cada ALS acreditada tendrá derecho a un voto. Los representantes seleccionados deben ser miembros de diferentes ALS, deben tener su lugar de residencia principal en diferentes países de la región, y sus nacionalidades deben ser distintas. Los representantes tendrán a su cargo las responsabilidades estipuladas en los estatutos del ICANN.

Para el caso de la elección se deberá tener también en cuenta la afiliación, residencia y nacionalidad de quien esté ejerciendo como representante ante el ALAC por LAC nombrado por el NomCom.

Por favor note que las elecciones para las ALSes sera abierto desde el 22-Agosto-2012 23:59 UTC al 25-Agosto-2012 23:59 UTC.
