en principio estoy a favor de esta posición.

Mi única duda: ¿se ha formulado con atención a sus posibles efectos secundarios? Es decir, ¿termina favoreciendo a algunas empresas como Verisign, que tiene una capacidad y un interés demostrado en proveer el equivalente fonético a .com en diversos IDNs? Como esto puede ser relativamente inevitable, ¿los beneficios a la comunidad internacional son superiores a los costos y riesgos de este tipo? ¿no nos convertimos en "tontos útiles" al apoyar por sus principios una propuesta que tiene este impacto comercial?

Esta pregunta se puede resolver en términos muy concretos ahora que se conocen públicamente todas las propuestas de nuevos gTLDs y las objeciones a las mismas que ya se han presentado, además de las discusiones que se hubieran presentado en el ALAC.
