Dear Lacralo members,
I agree with Jacqueline, but there are 2 points, which perhaps are being
overlooked -
Firstly, our preferred candidate was indicated on the 24th in advance of the
25th deadline and well in advance of the second round voting deadline of
28th.
While it is understandable that a vote by our representatives would be made
prior to these deadlines, it is unfortunate that to present our voice and
our preference have been overlooked.
Please note I have purposely not used the term vote in this case as the
ALSes did not have a vote but rather a opportunity to voice their preference
or favored candidates.
Secondly, to this point it appears the process has been maligned and
prejudiced simply because ALSes have not been reading the literature before
them from both candidates. We again implore our colleagues to review the
statements made by both candidates

including their follow up statements forwarded by our Secretariat.
To choose candidates (either through ignorance or laxness) only based on
personal contact or language is a poor indicator of our knowledge on this
process and only serves to highlight bias.
This mindset should be alien to Lacralo, we should seek out and promote the
best representation based on our judgment of statements from the candidates
and not be trapped by the impressions of their character or other
constraints that we perceive to exist.

Estoy de acuerdo con Jacqueline, pero hay dos puntos, que tal vez se pasa
por alto -
En primer lugar, nuestro candidato preferido se indicó el día 24 antes de la
fecha límite de 25 y mucho antes de la fecha límite segunda ronda de
votaciones del 28.
Si bien es comprensible que un voto por nuestros representantes se
realizaría antes de estos plazos, es lamentable que para obtener nuestra voz
y nuestra preferencia ha sido pasado por alto.
Tenga en cuenta que no he utilizado a propósito de la votación plazo en este
caso como el ALSes no tiene voto sino más bien una oportunidad de expresar
su preferencia o de los candidatos favorecidos.
En segundo lugar, a este punto parece que el proceso ha sido calumniado y
prejuicios ALSes simplemente porque no han estado leyendo la literatura
antes que ellos de los dos candidatos.Una vez más, ruego a nuestros colegas
a que revise las declaraciones formuladas por ambos candidatos https: /
community.icann.org / / display / DirCan / At-Large Director candidatos-Foro
de la comunidad - 11.10, incluyendo su seguimiento de las declaraciones
enviadas por nuestra Secretaría.
Para elegir a los candidatos (ya sea por ignorancia o laxitud) sólo se basa
en el contacto personal o el lenguaje es un indicador pobre de nuestro
conocimiento sobre este proceso y sólo sirve para destacar el sesgo.
Esta mentalidad debe ser ajena a LACRALO, debemos buscar y promover la mejor
representación sobre la base de nuestro juicio de las declaraciones de los
candidatos y no ser atrapado por las impresiones de su carácter o de otras
restricciones que percibimos de existir.
