Colegas,

Me preocupa lo que pinta en el horizonte inmediato del Gran Circo ICANN
como otro enfrentamiento gratuito entre los representantes de usuarios en
América Latin y otros en la región anglófona caribeña.

¿Como podemos evitar esto?  ¿No podemos confeccionar un mecanismo
que evita la imposición latinamericana por simple mayoría demográfica?
¿Cómo ajustamos las actuales reglas de las regiones de ICANN para o
compartir los cargos o negociar una rotación que satisface a todos? ¿Hay
una voluntad para lograrlo?

Colleagues,

I'm concerned we are moving toward another gratuitous and energy-sapping
confrontation between the Spanish / Portuguese speaking Latin American
RALO members and those from the Anglophone Caribbean countries.

Can we avoid this?  Are we able to design a mechanism that avoids the
imposition of the demographically dominant Latin states?  Are we able to
adjust, even twist the current ICANN region rules into a leadership sharing
or rotation mechanism that we all can live with?  Do we have the will to engage
in this task?
