<div dir="ltr"><div>Alex, was the SoI not presented during the nomination phase? If there was a conflict then, why was it not brought up then? Why only now, well after the election process has ended, the nomination ratified by the ALAC and publicly announced, as per the timelines of the ALAC? I understand that some might be upset that they didn't pay close enough attention, but I do not see any justification for the entire process to be rolled back. </div><div>There was NO issue with the electoral process from all the email I have read. It was fair and correct and went according to all rules and regulations. To attempt to subvert it now because you don't like the result is very poor governance, and a betrayal of democratic principles.</div><div>If there is a problem, then try using a recall process if there is one, but please don't screw with the integrity of the electoral process. </div><div>I'm particularly passionate about this as I am currently working for our National Election, and there are similar types of activities going on - we're on a watch group to keep the democratic process clear and fair. In the selection for a NomCom candidate this year, our esteemed colleague from Brazil and incumbent, Sylvia Leite Herlein, was nominated unopposed. I enthusiastically supported her candidacy, not just only for the fact she had performed in the post. But I
truly believe that a single 1-year term does not give the region the benefit of her service and expertise nor allow the region to build the influence we need in very important ICANN councils.</div>
