Invitation On behalf of Albert Daniels, Sr. Manager, Stakeholder Engagement – The Caribbean I am sharing this invitation to participate in the Caribbean LAC I RoadShow

Dear LACRALO Caribbean members,

The LAC Roadshow is one of the projects LAC Strategy , the objective is to raise awareness across the LAC region on key topics related to the DNS Security and Threats and ICANN’s mission. To ensure a well distributed set of events it was decided to have four editions per year: The Caribbean; Andean Region, Mexico and Central America and South America editions, over the past 5 years we had 20 editions all in different countries in our region with over 1800 attendees overall.

Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 World health crisis we won’t be able to have a face-to-face LAC Roadshow this year, but we are very happy to continue this effort in a virtual mode, so that’s why we are pleased to invite you to the Caribbean Virtual Roadshow which will be held on Tuesday May 25th at 10:00 AM AST (Atlantic Standard Time) (14:00 UTC).

This short one-hour session will be ideal for those who are new or newer to ICANN or have not been very involved. The ICANN LAC Senior Vice President Rodrigo de la Parra will be explaining how ICANN functions in simple terms overall and taking a Caribbean focused look at ICANN’s strategic Objectives and how they intersect with the needs and interests in the Caribbean. Engagement Senior Manager for the Caribbean will be explaining the advantages and benefits to persons from the Caribbean of participating in the ICANN Fellowship and NextGen Programs. And Nicolás Antonello from the ICANN Office of the Chief Technical Officer in ICANN will be talking about how we can make our internet usage more secure on a day-to-day basis.

While this event is open to participants from across the Caribbean we would be particularly happy to welcome participants from Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Suriname, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Belize so that these countries in particular could see greater benefit from the volunteer participation in ICANN. Please feel free to share the registration link with you colleagues who may be interested.
