Thank you. Alexander. I particularly know what I have to do, however I appreciate your comments.
It is true what is decisive in what until now is a huge dialogue (each meeting has more than 60 participants) expressing positions from very different angles and there are still no conclusions. Although if some summary document.
If you have a different position that you believe adds and contributes to the debate with pleasure the transfer to the consideration of the group.

I have reviewed the document and others close to the recent work of WT5.It is first and foremost a narrative of opposing positions from multiple angles with very, very, VERY few firm conclusions. It is amazing how many times you enter an opinion or point of view pointing to "a member said". It is clear that in many of these interventions, the members of the working group that intervene do so in the name of an interest such as creating a gTLD with a name close to a city or other geographies. It also repeats well-known arguments, such as the polysemy of many geographical names that are also names of common objects, surnames, recognized marks, etc.(This repetition is not unnecessary). The participations of many people in this group are in a personal capacity or in representation of the mentioned interests. In our community, I only recognize Carlos Aguirre (as liaison) and Sergio Salinas (as incoming President) as obligated people with the LACRALO community. I do not know if Carlos Raúl
  Gutiérrez is equally obliged.

As we have seen before (cases .patagonia and .amazon, names of two letters, names of a single letter), the opinions in LACRALO are diverse. In the cases of the two regional names, for example, there was alignment with the vision of governments, while in the case of two-letter names, the most widespread position is recently opposite.

For this reason I would like to propose to the participants identified until now (the aforementioned and Adrián Carballo) that:

1. manifest your interests (
Do you participate in any new gTLD projects that could be affected positively or negatively by WT5?)

2. ratify or rectify if they are bound by LACRALO as I consider it above (you may be in error for various reasons that you would listen with interest);

3.express their positions on the most outstanding issues (for example:
the names of cities must have the approval of the GA, and the corresponding city, of the national government of the country in which the city is located?)

4. help the community and LACRALO to order participation and debate by pointing out issues that could lead to decisions sooner or with greater consequences.

5. keep a consultation with the community of LACRALO that is not so involved in the subject as to dedicate a weekly session only to this one.

For now this is not a formal motion. This allows them to act immediately without waiting for official translations or the preparatory process for a vote, which at the moment does not seem to have material. Hopefully, reactivated issues and participation such as these will lead LACRALO to port the vision of the region's users to the construction of substantive ICANN policies.

Hello Carlos, Hi Sergio,
Good afternoon.

Carlos, yes. Of course I am aware of your designation.

My intention is to give a contribution to this topic, and in this sense I will continue collaborating.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Best regards,

Welcome Sergio! It would be good to start reading what was sent yesterday by Adrian so we are all at the same level of knowledge of the discussion and in this way imagine a contribution to the proposals of those who already work here a while ago.

I will try to coordinate an informal call between us for the next week.

The meetings of the WT5 are every week and the best way we can make a contribution from the region is to participate there at least as a listener and then between us to make a substantive contribution using the designated liaison.

the next calls are the ones that I copy below

Wednesday June 6 at 20:00 UTC for 60 minutes
Wednesday June 13 at 5:00 UTC for 60 minutes
Wednesday June 20 at 14:00 UTC for 60 minutes

again welcome.

Dear colleagues,

I hope this message finds you well.

I would like you to take note of the message recently sent (in copy below) by the co-chairs of Work Track 5 on geographical names.

They have shared a document that compiles all the different opinions and perspectives shared in the various telephone conferences and on the mailing list.

This is link to Google Docs:

The document does not define any action nor does it evaluate the consensus of the different concepts, it only compiles them to facilitate its revision.

The co-chairs invite us to comment and edit the shared document.

I would like to suggest that in addition to the comments that each one can make individually, let's work together to make a contribution of L

Dear Work Track 5 members,
As discussed on the WT5 call today, the co-leaders are pleased to share with you the "working document" that we will be using to collect input from WT5 calls and the email list. You can find a Google Document version here:

This is work in progress and will continue to evolve as discussions continue. The document is intended to summarize perspectives and key points raised in Work Track discussions and on the Work Track mailing list. The document does not attempt to evaluate the level of consensus in support of the different ideas and positions at this time. Once Work Track leaders hold consensus calls, information about level of consensus will be added. You are encouraged to provide feedback on the document if you feel that an important point raised in the Work Track has been missed, or if you want to add new points or arguments not yet discussed. We only ask that you do not suggest deleting points or ideas that were raised by someone other than yourself.
You can comment on the following ways:
