Dear Alexander, was traveling and hence my delay in answering. This reaffirms the need for the ALAC Members submit issues when you start trying to ALAC, so that our region can be ready in time for opinions, if necessary. We can not learn when opened for public comment, and no preparation time.

On the issues, priorities can be addressed. In one of them "and that the DNS resolves names to IP addresses without fail," I wish someone technician of the technical community, enlighten us if DNSSEC and how it contributes to it.

Best regards

Alberto Soto

Colleagues,

This document sent to us for consultation by ALAC is important, in my opinion. Makes a list of issues it deals with the ALAC and why the general Internet users should be concerned about them asks.

The list of what is important for ALAC is almost exactly the reverse order of what concerns Internet users in general.Of all the topics listed - and leaving aside the generality of "Internet governance" - the last thing we care about is accountability of ICANN and the first, if anything, is the availability, use and possible abuse of data domain name registrants in "whois".

In fact the situation is more serious: what proecupa the genral users is the abuse of the names, phishing, speculation that prevents them regtistrar domain names for their activities, families and businesses, and that the DNS resolves names to addresses IP without fail. And that does not even appear on the agenda of the ALAC!

If anyone needs evidence that urgent reform At Large, and in particular LACRALO can not deny it: it is there, on that list. There can be no surprise that new organizations will not join in that few interested LACRALO and ALAC them.

I call our representatives to ALAC to launch an active discussion about the order and content of the list in our community and to express themselves in favor of a radical modification thereof. This is a formal motion.
