 Dear members of LACRALO,


 the process for special community requests for fiscal year 2017 has begun. This process is related to a specific part of the budget that is labeled ICANN to fund specific requests from the community for activities that are not included in the recurrent budget of ICANN. The period of coverage for this type of understanding on budget requests for fiscal year 2017 is the July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017. 


 The relevant process information can be found in the workspace to the wiki on At-Large FY17 Budget Development Workspace where you will find the deadlines, details of the process, the principles and the application form. 


 NOTE: Members of the Finance and Budget Subcommittee ALAC (FBSC) have agreed to establish the following criteria for proposals from the At-Large community: 


 It is requested that the requests are not focused on outreach and recruitment (outreach). It is recommended to strengthen the interaction between existing members.
 If the application in question relates to outreach, it must be channeled through the CROPP and not through this special procedure. 
 Proposals should include how or why the work of the ALAC / At-Large will become effective as help develop the At-Large community. 
 Each request must go through a bottom-up process within each prior to being sent for consideration by the FBSC THIN. 
 The RALOs should take into account the times of General / Summit Meeting. 
 Applications must to have specific support of the representative of the RALO in FSBC (For LACRALO Humberto Carrasco and Leon Felipe Sanchez). 
 Staff support is contemplated that the requirements for printing publicity materials will be covered in the regular budget. However it is suggested that require printing in particular, the request is made as a backup in case the regular budget does not consider these expenses or not sufficient to cover in full.In the case of other proposals related to communication beyond printing materials, it is suggested, in any event, submit an application within this process. 
 VERY IMPORTANT: Between 4 and 22 January, RALOS should evaluate and review any request by one of its ALS, if requisitar and approve the appropriate format to be sent to the Support Staff At-Large.

 IMPORTANT: The members of the ALAC Finance and Budget Sub-Committee (FBSC) Have Agreed to the following criteria for At-Large Proposals: 


 Outreach Should not be a major focus. Activities to Improve Engagement With Existing members is Encouraged. 
 If any request is made on outreach, it probably Should Go Through the CROPP program and not this special request process. 
 Should Proposals include ways in Which will make the ALAC and / or the At-Large community more effective and Develop the At-Large community. 
 THIN requests must go Through a bottom-up process prior to THIN Within Their Being Submitted for consideration by the FBSC.
