[lac-discuss-en] This Tiresome 'Irregularity' Claim Against At-Large Staff

My friend Alejando, I'm going to irritate you some more with rhetoric. And
do please accept I am using the classic [English] meaning of the word.

What is alleged is purely unfortunate bullshit.

Lance Hinds is articulated to ICANN via an MOU with ICANN and caucus with
the At-Large and LACRALO as a representative of DevNet; he's the Chairman
and its representative to LACRALO.

Devnet is a non-governmental organisation that provides ICT development
services to those who are on the poor side of the digital divide. DevNet
thusly represents end user interests. Think of Devnet as Guyana's version
Internauta Usarios etc. etc.

The man is President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce by virtue of his
ownership of a small business; Brainstreet Technologies. He derives his
income, his living wage, principally from that business. He DOES NOT get
paid as President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.

Here's the issue. It is not unusual for those of us in the Caribbean to
have many lives; its called responding to capacity deficit. To say that
Lance cannot be a businessman and also represent end user interests when
he's Chairman of an NGO - the one thru which he's connected to the ICANN
system - just looks delusional for some of us.

At least for those of us in the Caribbean who are volunteers for one thing
or other.

-Carlton
