Thanks for this compendium Joly.

The Strickland riposte was fascinating for its directness, never mind the
finesse.  Note well the 'cut and parry' to the EU's perspective; he invoked
and made special mention of 'engagement of countries in the developing
world' in the globalisation effort.

Put another way, the EU's proffer was for 'you and us', in this together.
 Never mind the diplomatese, that proffer was indignantly rejected; where
the hell have you been! We have been working to globalise ICANN and bring
everybody along for over five years.

Secretary Strickland knows the likeliest source of greatest danger to
ICANN; multilateralism. That's about votes.

If nothing else, he can count.
