Dear All:
It is certainly regrettable that this election cycle seemed to have gone
off to a troublesome start.

I share the concern raised by Alejandro Pisanty in his query to the
leadership. Information about candidates, their views extracted by
questions asked and answered either on the wiki or teleconference should
have been aired before voting began.

Given a number of new voters, it would have been important for all to see
and hear candidate statements of interests and expose the newer members to
more and better information on candidate's views on the policy development
process, their interactions in working groups, even an accounting of those
interactions. And how capacity development is to be achieved in LACRALO and
beyond.

For example, it would have been  useful for us in the Caribbean to hear the
candidate's views on diversity in representation, leadership and the like
before the vote.
