Subject: [icann-staff] Root Zone DNSSEC Key Ceremony 12 Today

Hi all,

ICANN carries out four root zone DNSSEC key ceremonies per year, as part of
its responsibilities under the IANA Functions Contract. These ceremonies
are formally audited procedures related to the management of cryptographic
assets used in DNSSEC, and the proceedings are open for public review in
the interests of global transparency.

We will conduct the twelfth Root Zone DNSSEC key ceremony today in El
Segundo, CA, USA, at 2013-02-13 13:00 Pacific (2013-02-13 05:00 UTC).

A live video stream will be available as soon as the ceremony starts. If
you are interested in watching, or would like to invite any other members
of the ICANN community to do so, the place to go is:

  http://dns.icann.org/ksk/stream/

Remember, this is a procedural event conducted for the purposes of
cryptographic transparency. Don't expect prime-time entertainment or
special effects. :-)

The ceremony administrator this time around will be Mehmet Akcin, supported
by many capable people from different ICANN departments.

Joe
