[lac-discuss-en] Withdrawal of LACRALO GA Agenda Item 17

Dear Colleagues,



I hereby withdraw my motion set out to be discussed in Agenda Item Number
17 relating to ensuring diversity and representation by LACRALO
representatives proposed for the GA started in Costa Rica, subject to
withdrawal of all other proposed motions on that agenda.


The reasoning behind my conditional withdrawal is in recognition of the
current and ongoing work to examine and revise At Large structures and
procedures by both the At Large Rules of Procedure Working Group, as well
as the LACRALO Working Groups.


Further, it is recognised that the ICANN Bye Laws at Section 2 Core Values
Subsection 4 states "*In performing its mission, the following core values
should guide the decisions and actions of ICANN... Seeking and supporting
broad, informed participation reflecting the functional, geographic, and
cultural diversity of the Internet at all levels of policy development and
decision-making.*", therefore LACRALO being a structure created by ICANN
MUST also follow such Core Values and Principles and these will guide all
our practices.
