thanks for the news, not the global but the local: is there any global, regional, or international Internet Governance dimension to the fact that authorities in one country are putting in a bad system?

Or is it more like with the knowledge gained in the global arena you and other determined citizens can stop them? What other cross-border issues do you see in this?

As would be expected.....or stand accused of dereliction of duty!

For the rest of the world though, things not so good.

Our local [water & sewer] authority is putting in a SCADA network with very
weak security requirements, especially since the PLC's employed for
engineering the system tend to come from the same manufacturers.
